Four score and zero years ago today, I was sitting in a field in New York State, called Woodstock, with a 1-A draft status, and believed I was witnessing the birth of a new nation; conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition of Peace, Love, Music and Freedom. Fast forward 40 years; now I am sitting in my overpriced house, worth 2/3 of what I paid for it, driving a tin walled death trap car, so I can get 30 miles to the gallon of speculation priced gasoline, made from oil purchased from our enemies. I heat my home with the same enemy oil, and cool it with electricity from overburdened nuclear plants. Why? Because our ridiculous Eco-insane government refuses to harvest our own natural resources of oil, natural gas, coal, and will not build any more refineries or nuclear plants, to provide inexpensive safe energy to all Americans. Obscure field mice are now more important than humans. The dregs of humanity who refuse to work and criminal illegal aliens are elevated on the backs of working Americans' via tax dollars. Our astute politicians plan a hastening of the destruction of America as we know it, under the weight of yet more and higher taxes on everything we consume, the creation of more government entitlements, and socialism that would make Karl Marx proud, applied to banks, corporations, energy and health care. We just elected our first liberal fascist socialist President and put radical left wing loons in charge of the Congress and the Senate, just to compensate for previous mass hysteria derangement over the last President. Talk about "reaping what you sow"! Abraham Lincoln is corkscrewing in his grave. However, all may not be lost. I recently witnessed the new dissent, reminiscent of the dissent I felt at Woodstock, against an oppressive government. Then it was against an extreme right wing government, now it is against an extreme left wing government; ironically, the Woodstock generation, all grown up and in control. Now, in an America that is only taught revisionist history, and a free press that has voluntarily become a state run propaganda media machine, compiling enemy lists in the name of merely answering critics, I can only hope for a new Woodstock generation, in the new Tea Parties and a rebellion of the underground conservative movement. Peace, brother.
